Author Guidelines

Authors are invited to submit their unpublished manuscripts to this journal. All submissions will first be evaluated by the editorial team through a preliminary review (desk review) to determine their relevance to the journal’s objectives, focus, and thematic scope. Manuscripts that pass this initial phase and are deemed suitable will undergo a rigorous external peer-review process before a decision is made regarding their acceptance or rejection.

Before submitting a manuscript, authors are strictly responsible for obtaining the necessary authorizations and permissions for the publication of any intellectual property-protected material included in the submission, such as photographs, technical diagrams, documents, or datasets. Furthermore, all authors identified in the submission must give their explicit consent to be listed as authors. Where applicable, research involving human subjects, communities, or animals must have prior approval from an accredited ethics committee, in accordance with the legal and regulatory requirements of the country where the study was conducted.

Mandatory Use of Citations and References (IEEE-US Standards):

To ensure the standardization and technical and scientific rigor characteristic of this field, it is a mandatory requirement that all manuscripts strictly adhere to the citation and reference system of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE standard—U.S.):

  • In-text citations: References must be cited sequentially within the body of the text using Arabic numerals enclosed in square brackets (e.g., [1], [2], [3]), assigned strictly in the order in which they first appear. Citations in author-year format or in parentheses should be avoided.
  • List of References: At the end of the manuscript, under the section titled “References,” the bibliography must be arranged numerically in the order in which the citations appear in the document (do not use alphabetical order). The official IEEE structure must be followed for the listing of authors’ initials, article titles in quotation marks, journal and conference names in italics, years, volume numbers, page numbers, and the mandatory inclusion of DOI identifiers (or URLs for online resources).

An editor may reject a submission outright if it does not comply with the specified citation guidelines or meet the minimum standards of academic quality and formal correctness. Before submitting your manuscript, ensure that the study design, methodology, and scientific argumentation are properly structured and articulated. The title should be concise, written in the impersonal or third-person voice, and the abstract should stand on its own. Strictly adhering to these requirements will increase the likelihood that reviewers will agree to evaluate the article. Once you are certain that your submission meets all these requirements, proceed with the checklist below to prepare and submit your proposal.

Submission Preparation Checklist

All submissions must meet the following requirements.

  • This submission meets the requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines.
  • This submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration.
  • All references have been checked for accuracy and completeness.
  • All tables and figures have been numbered and labeled.
  • Permission has been obtained to publish all photos, datasets and other material provided with this submission.

Research Paper

Artículo de Investigación:

Este tipo de publicación académica presenta de forma clara y precisa los resultados totales o parciales de un trabajo investigativo inédito, realizado en un área determinada del conocimiento. Esta difusión formal del conocimiento hacia la comunidad científica es revisada por pares antes de ser publicados en la revista.

Survey Paper

State of the Art (Survey):

A survey paper aims to provide a systematic review, description and discussion of a specific research subject, through the study of several previously published papers on that topic. In other words, it provides a comprehensive and critical summary of the existing literature on a specific topic. In contrast to original research papers, which present new experimental findings, survey papers compile, analyze and synthesize already published research to provide a global and updated view of the state of knowledge in a particular subject.

Carta de Investigación (Notas breves, Comentarios, perspectivas):

El enfoque de este tipo de publicaciones se centra en la descripción de posibles errores en la metodología y/o en la interpretación del estudio en una determinada temática de investigación. En este sentido, el punto de partida toma como base los resultados de otros estudios que no fueron tomados en cuenta por la publicación original y que permiten transmitir resultados o experimentos que aún no han sido descritos. Finalmente, al ser una carta, esta no requiere de un cuerpo lleno de secciones y subsecciones, se refiere a un escrito continuo con una extensión corta en número de páginas.
